As we eagerly anticipate the upcoming Taste of Cayman Food and Drink Festival, there's one vendor that we always look forward to seeing out there on the Festival Green – Beach House at The Westin resort.
With its idyllic patio overlooking Grand Cayman’s pristine Seven Mile Beach, Beach House has fast become a favorite dining experience for locals and visitors alike. If you haven’t been yet, what are you waiting for?
Here’s the lowdown from our recent visit: a balmy evening, the sun sinking into the horizon, casting hues of pink and gold across the sky as we settle into our seats on the patio at Beach House. The ambiance alone is enough to elevate our dining experience to new heights, but little did we know that we were in for a culinary journey that would surpass all expectations.
From the globally inspired menu, we embarked on a gastronomic adventure, indulging in a 3-course feast that left us utterly enchanted. Our meal began with a bread service that set the bar sky-high. Freshly baked olive focaccia, house-made hummus, and a trio of flavored butters greeted us, tantalizing our taste buds and setting the stage for what was to come. For starters, we couldn't resist the crispy, grilled Octopus a La Plancha – a perfect balance of tender texture and robust flavor that left us craving more. But it was the selection of mains that truly stole the show. With options like the Tandoori Caribbean Snapper, Seared Yellow Fin Tuna, and Jerk Spiced Island Wahoo, we were spoiled for choice. Each dish showcased the freshest ingredients and bold flavors, a testament to the culinary expertise of Beach House's chefs. And let's not forget about dessert – the pièce de résistance of any meal. The Chocolate Lava Cake did not disappoint. With each spoonful of rich, molten chocolate, we knew we were experiencing something truly special.
As we reflect on our recent experience at Beach House, we can't help but get excited for what they will serve up at this year's Taste of Cayman. We’ve seen them scoop several awards over recent years for their Indian style street food offerings, packed full of flavour. These dishes might be something of a departure from the core menu at Beach House but their Exec Chef tells us that Taste of Cayman is something of a passion project for their culinary team and they work together each year to bring a special twist to the event with their unique dishes.
So mark your calendars and join us as we embark on a culinary journey like no other at the Taste of Cayman Food and Drink Festival at the Festival Green, Camana Bay. With a side of live entertainment from the Black Eyed Peas, this year’s event is set to be bigger and back than ever! Get your tickets now at www.tasteofcayman.org
